Theme
(read aloud): The Christ of faith
is in all things. He is not present exclusively to any specific
group of people or rational persuasion. Christ is as present now
to people of all cultural systems and religious persuasions as he
was in biblical times. In fact he condemned the self-righteousness
of the religious leaders of his day who felt a claim on God’s
favor. In all races, cultural, and religious traditions around the
world, Christ is present wherever there is self-giving love,
wherever justice is sought for all, wherever there is compassion
for the poor and marginalized, wherever there is respect for
others and our environment.
