Tracking The Spirit

PART ONE
 Tracking the Spirit Within Me

Meeting 3:      Who is God for me?

v  Opening prayer:  Music, Scripture (Matthew 19:13-15), poetry, environment, anything that contributes to the spirit of the meeting.   (4-5 minutes)

v  Check-in:  How am I feeling as I begin this meeting?  (10 minutes total)

v  Theme (read aloud):  There is an undeniable experience of a Transcendent Other. It is experienced in all cultures and traditions, and yet is beyond all cultural constructs and theological language. To image this presence is to limit it; to open our hearts to it is to embrace it. Becoming one with the All is the urge of the human heart and all creation. Whether it be YHWH, God, Allah, Great Spirit, or some other name, the human heart is restless until it comes to rest in the presence of this Other.

v  Reflection (facilitator read):  One name the Gospels uses is God.  Who is God to me? Does God love me? Do I trust God unconditionally? Who is Jesus to me? Who is Holy Spirit to me? To whom do I pray?  Short silence (2-3 min)

v  Sharing  (facilitator introduce):  What struck me in this reflection?  +++  After the sharings, members may add anything else they wish or ask for feedback from the group.  Remember, no comment on sharings.   Brief prayer

v  Break (15 minutes, optional)

v  Open conversation & questions about matters of interest and concern.

v  Preview next topic:  To pray over in preparation for the next meeting.

v  Business:  Place for next meeting, facilitator, prayer leader, other issues.

v  Review of meeting:   How was I moved during this meeting? Where did I feel positive energy? Where did I feel discomfort?

v  Closing prayer

v  Social
