Work

2:23-28), poetry, environment.
v

How am I feeling as I begin
this meeting? (10 minutes total)
v
Theme
(read aloud): It is creative for
people to have something to do, as indicated by how quickly
boredom sets in when they don’t. The fortunate ones find their
work satisfying, others do not. They simply endure work “to pay
the bills”. If God is in all things, then God is present in the
work place, just as much as in nature or in church. One long-time
teacher found new meaning when she saw what she did as a
continuation of Christ’s mission. Recognizing God’s presence gives
all things meaning, even boring and disliked work.
v
Reflection
(facilitator read): What is my
work? Do I like my work? If not, why? What is missing? What
could I do to make my work more meaningful? Do I see God with me
in it? How? If not, what can I change to help me see God
there? Short silence (2-3 min)
v
Sharing
(facilitator introduce): What
struck me in this reflection? + + + After the sharings,
members may add anything else they wish, or ask for feedback from
the group. Brief prayer.
