v
Theme
(read aloud): Family is the
fundamental community. It is the place through which one’s
salvation is received. It is a place of ecstasy and agony. There
is the pleasure of married love and the commitment to fidelity.
There is the hope for children’s growth and the disappointment of
childhood failure. There is the hope for family improvement and
the hopelessness of financial burden. There is the joy of family
companionship and the face of illness and death. Stress and
struggles are the circumstances of family life. In them God is
most easily found. In faith, struggle is transformed into gift. In
faith, God is seen in all of family life.
v
Reflection
(facilitator read): Do I find
God in my family? Has it always been this way? When has God been
most present to me in it? When was God hardest to find?
Short silence (2-3 min)
v
