Theme
(read aloud): The experience of
community is a universal desire. What lifts us up and brings us
down most often comes from our relationships. Family,
neighborhoods, co-workers, soldiers in combat, gangs – the sense
of community is found wherever there are people who bond together.
What is unique to Christian community is the person of Jesus. What
is unique about Christian community is living out his values and
choices. The community is truly Christian when the poorest, the
outcaste, the unfit are welcomed as graciously and lovingly as the
rest.
v
Reflection
(facilitator read): When have
I experienced this kind of community? What was special about it?
Have I experienced this often? Short silence (2-3 min)
