Foreword
BRINGING IN NEW MEMBERS
It may happen that your group may
want to invite new people to join. This can work very well. A good
process is to repeat the first exercise to get acquainted, and
then to share with the new person(s) what each member has
experienced as a result of being in this group. It is also helpful
to repeat some of the previous exercises. This can be fruitful for
everyone since “repetition” helps deepen what has already been
experienced. Incidentally, between seven to ten is a good number
for a group.
It can also be helpful for one or
two from the group to spend some time with the new person in
between meetings to fill her in on what the group has been doing
since it began. This helps the new member get a feel for where the
group is and feel more comfortable about beginning in it.
There is no one way to bring in new
members. Figuring out how to do so in a fruitful way is an
exercise of discernment and is already an experience of learning
one’s own spiritual process and practice. As always, you may
contact the CLC Assistant or anyone he may suggest for assistance
in this endeavor.

FINANCIAL
STEWARDSHIP
CLC asks $15 a month from singles
and $20 a month from couples to support the life and work of CLC.
Payment of dues is not a condition for membership, although
everyone is asked to contribute something. This supports the
development of both the local community and that of the larger CLC
community in the Northwest.
